18 & Over Book Blogger Follow is a weekly feature that begins on Fridays and runs through the weekend, hosted by Crystal from Reading Between the Wines. This is a Friday blog hop with the objective to find and visit other book blogs that share the same interest as you, namely books geared towards the 18 & over crowd, and make some new friends!
Question of the Week: Do you feel the need to write a review for your personal reads, as oppose to requested reviews, or are there some books you read just for the joy of reading?
My Answer: NO! I love blogging and reviewing books and sharing my thoughts, but I read a TON! I really do like to read a book for pure enjoyment, without thinking of what my critique will be while reading. I don’t really have a system for what books I do and don’t review, but a lot of times I will just pick up a book off of my shelf and read for fun. Then I will rate it on Goodreads, but not write the review, or just write a sentence. Plus, I find that my reviews are better when I don’t write them for every single book…
How about you? Do you review everything you read?

I completely agree. Reading for me is a passion. Love to talk about books but I never want it to become a chore. Here is my answer :To

Great answer
I think I get just as much enjoyment out of reviewing a book as I do reading it hehe

That’s a really good point you make! One issue with reviewing is that it really does become a chore which takes all the fun out reading the story!
I’m often told that anything you get paid for becomes a chore, but we don’t get paid to write reviews and it can become a chore, if we let it.
A fine line to walk, eh? lol

When I find the time there are some books that I read for pleasure and don’t necessarily review. However, if I really loved the book, then I like to share it, so I will at least post reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, etc, and often my blog too.

I review everything I read but then again I am not a fast reader so I’m not reviewing every day.
Have a great weekend.

I review everything, at least I do now. I tend to go back and reread what I have written and it helps remind of the book.

I try to review most of what I read but am the same way in the end. At the very least I’ll rate it over on Goodreads too and put just a sentence or two. It does get a little overwhelming if you read a ton. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Hmm interesting. I never thought about it that way. I review everything I read, but mostly because I don’t read that much so I can afford to do that.I can see that if you read a lot it becomes annoying to review everything.
