The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
~this meme was inspired in part by – In My Mailbox~
It’s a chance to share News.
A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
I think that by now most of you have probably heard of the latest plagiarism scandal involving The Story Siren. If you are not aware of the situation, I am not going to re-hash it here, but I did write up a blog post about it and shared my thoughts on the situation. You can read about it in my post: Plagiarism: Hot Topic Discussion. Because of the issue, I am no longer participating in In My Mailbox. So, I have decided to try out The Sunday Post.
I did very good this week, I did NOT buy books (not even the kindle freebies
) and the books I did get, well, I’m ecstatic about….
For Review (title links to goodreads/images to Amazon):
- Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris
- Kiss the Dead by Laurell K Hamilton
Yes, that’s right I got ARC copies of the new Sookie Stackhouse and Anita Blake books! I was so excited when I opened the package, I broke out the happy dance (no joke, my 3 YO was very obliging and started dancing with me instead of giving me the ‘mommy lost her mind’ look) So, THANK YOU to Penguin Publishing! By the way, I already devoured Deadlocked, it’s good, my review will be up later this week.
- Lord of Fire and Ice by Connie Mason with Mia Marlowe (thank you Sourcebooks Casablanca)
Well, that’s what’s new on my To-read pile this week. What new reads did you come across?

I like this Sunday Post idea. That’s awesome that you got those ARCs! And wow, not even ONE freebie? Nice!
April 29, 2012 at 2:55 am
You are so lucky. I am looking forward to the release of both those books.
Can’t wait for your review.
April 29, 2012 at 3:26 am
I didn’t know copies of Deadlocked were already sent to reviewers! :O Very cool! I haven’t read the latest installment yet and barely recall what happened in books 1-10, to be honest, but I’m still excited about how it’ll all end!

I sent out the request for both Deadlocked and Kiss of Death awhile ago, not really expecting much. And then, they showed up on my doorstep… SO exciting!
April 29, 2012 at 6:39 am
Not only ARC of Sookie but ARC of Anita as well!!!!!! You’re killing me here!
)) I’m so so jealous, enjoy all your books, darling!

I’m on queue for Deadlocked and I can’t wait to see how Eric is going to deal with Sookie and his engagement with a Queen.
We came up with our own meme too. This TSS is really causing waves! I love your meme btw.

I have GOT TO stop getting the free kindle books! I’m so overwhelmed! LOL! What is Sourcebooks Casablanca? Is that another way to receive ARCs?

Sourcebooks Casablanca is a publisher- most of their titles are on Netgalley though

There are so many bloggers that are discontinuing with IMM like we are! I feel kind of awful for Kristi, but I don’t think I’ll go back to supporting her either since I’m HUGELY against plagiarism. It was nice to read your thoughts on it too! And even though I’ve never heard of them before, you have some awesome-sounding books waiting to be read!
Awesome book haul this week! I hope you enjoy them all!
April 29, 2012 at 9:56 am
Very nice. I didn’t realize you could get ARCs from those two writers. I’ll have to keep that in mind for next year’s releases. Enjoy!
April 29, 2012 at 10:03 am
I have never even opened a Sookie book! Yes, there has been temptation, but I’ve just not had time to get around to it. *sigh* I will! That is so cool that you got such very big arcs! Way to go!!
April 29, 2012 at 10:06 am
I am jealous! Deadlocked! Wow I would devour that in a heartbeat! I hope you enjoy and look forward to your reviews.

I am so jealous you got Deadlocked! So jealous. Absolutely green with envy. It’s on my wishlist and I will probably give in to temptation.
I did not do IMM this week and haven’t decided which new meme I’ll do next week. My reading plans for this week are here http://www.readingreality.net/2012/04/whats-on-my-mostly-virtual-nightstand-4-29-12/

I did the ARC happy dance when I received the a copy of Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost. I saw you’re never too old for the book happy dance
April 29, 2012 at 2:37 pm
you got Once Burned?? see, I’m jealous of that one… it happens to all of us
April 29, 2012 at 11:25 am
I am so jealous of your copy of Deadlocked! I love Charlaine Harris with a borderline obsessive love — I generally buy them on the day they come out! I can’t wait to see what you think!

I did a IMM this week before I read about what had happened. I will try to join you with a link to my post next Sunday.

I’m such a newb to the blogging world that when I got my first emails asking to review some ARC, I started dancing, too! Good to know that elated feeling never goes away.
though I never participated in In My Mailbox, I understand the need to “jump ship,” so to speak. I probably would have done the same thing. However, I do love Sunday Post.
Great blog!

Super lucky! I’m desperate to read Deadlocked. Anita Blake, though… Well, I’ll admit I haven’t been a fan of that series since Micah showed up, LMAO. Enjoy all your new goodies!
The Week at Book Brats!
April 29, 2012 at 2:47 pm
yeah, the Anita Blake series definitely took some pretty crazy turns. However, the last book, Hit List, was pretty great so I am looking forward to seeing what happens in Kiss the Dead. With Anita Blake, you just never know…

April 29, 2012 at 6:44 pm
Glad Deadlocked is good. I have to be patient for a few more weeks. The other two don’t look bad either.
Happy Reading!
April 29, 2012 at 9:15 pm
It’s awesome that you received an arc of Deadlocked, I really need to start Dead Reckoning soon. I’m dying to read it. I also need to start reading Anita Blake again, I stopped because I couldn’t find The Killing Dance anywhere.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your books and thanks for stopping by!
April 29, 2012 at 10:14 pm
