Take me down to Vampire City…

Vampires live only for lust and pleasure in the eternal twilight of Vamp City. But the city’s magic is dying. The only person who can restore it? A beautiful woman from the mortal world…one who knows nothing of the power she wields.

Quinn Lennox is searching for a missing friend when she stumbles into a dark otherworld that only she can see—and finds herself at the mercy of Arturo Mazza, a dangerously handsome vampire whose wicked kiss will save her, enslave her, bewitch her, and betray her. What Arturo can’t do is forget about her—any more than Quinn can control her own feelings for him. Neither one can let desire get in the way of their mission—his to save his people, hers to save herself. But there is no escape from desire in a city built for seduction, where passion flows hot and blood-red.

Welcome to Vamp City..

My Review:

The concept of A Blood Seduction and the paranormal world is the best part about this book.  The Vamp City is a hidden alternate universe type of place where Vampires rule and they are vicious,  cruel beings.  The Vampires featured are not romantic heroes.  However, Vamp City is losing it’s magic and when Quinn stumbles into the city, she becomes a commodity as the only person with enough magic to restore Vamp City.

I like that the Vampires are not human-natured at all.  The vampires feed off of humans, for both blood and fear or pain.  The vampires are at the top of the food chain, and they make sure that any humans they come in contact with know that.  So, I really did like the world and the concept for A Blood Seduction.

With that said, I had some issues with the book.  At times I felt a bit confused and that the characters could have communicated better.  So many of the actions and reactions in this book were questionable or unbelievable.  I did understand Quinn’s motivation and determination to find her brother, but she was pretty naive and unprepared for the cruelty and danger in Vamp City.  Quinn’s relationship with Arturo was confusing to me as well.  That relationship is pretty much a hot mess.  Despite the fact that Quinn is a slave and a captive to vampires, there is still a lot of sexual tension and steamy moments.

I felt that the flow of the book could have been smoother, and it took me awhile to get into the story and the world.  A Blood Seduction is not my favorite vampire read ever, but the series shows some promise and has curious to see what happens next.  I will likely read the next book in the series after it releases.

BSB1

  1. Great review. I could see those same things, but for some reason they didn’t bug me, and seemed reasonable. That’s what I love about books, everyone reads them just a bit different!

  2. I am curious about the world despite the problems with the characters. Love your review!
