THIS IS BOOK TWO IN THE BLACKSTONE AFFAIR TRILOGY. THE BOOKS ARE NOT STAND ALONE. If you have not read Naked (Part 1) then you need to go back and do that first. *Raine is just looking out for you*
All In, The Blackstone Affair, Part 2
Ethan Blackstone has problems. He’s broken the trust of the woman he loves and she’s left him because of it. Ethan isn’t giving up though–he’s determined to get his girl back. Their passion together was explosive, but their secrets are even darker and more frightening. With political threats directed at Brynne, Ethan has no choice but to fight for her, to win her love, and to protect her from the very dangers that could take her away from him forever. He’s willing to risk everything to have Brynne and to keep her safe. He’ll go all in…
All In is book 2 in Raine Miller’s contemporary erotic romance series, The Blackstone Affair. Book 1, Naked, was a very good read, but it was short and basically provided the introduction to the story of Ethan and Brynne. Naked felt like an appetizer book for me, it gave me an idea about the series and had me clamoring for more. I loved All In. All In has that “something more” factor. This book is longer and more developed than book 1, and the writing is brilliant. Rest assured readers, All In is a full-course, emotionally charged, gripping read that had me hooked.
All In picks up right where Naked left off, but this time the story is told from Ethan’s perspective. Both Ethan and Brynne have serious issues and have to learn to work with each other if they want to be together. Along with their personal issues, Ethan’s possessiveness and the growing danger to Brynne threaten to pull their relationship apart.
I absolutely loved that Raine Miller wrote All In from Ethan’s perspective. It was both intriguing and endearing to be able to understand Ethan’s motivations, fears, and desires. Compared to other male characters in this genre, Ethan is not nearly as moody or complicated. He has issues that he needs to work through, but he is overall a stable character, determined to make Brynne happy, be there for her, and to be what she needs. After reading All In, understanding Ethan’s dedication and willingness to change for Brynne, Ethan has become a favorite character of mine.
Brynne is also an intriguing character, she is so confident in some ways, but totally insecure in others. When it comes to modeling, she knows that she has a beautiful body and has no problem showing it off. She has a difficult time believing that the person she is inside is just as beautiful. She is growing as a character, and beginning to open up more to Ethan and I love how their relationship is developing. While I love how the relationship progresses, Brynne and Ethan still have plenty of obstacles to overcome. Ms. Miller hinted at something that will could be a huge game-changer in the next book (possibly), once again leaving me curious and clamoring for more.
Also, let me be clear; All In is a smoking hot read. The chemistry between Brynne and Ethan heats the pages, is highly erotic, and utterly enthralling. This series is definitely geared towards the over 18 crowd.
I was not ready for All In to end, I want to know what’s coming and I want to know how everything comes together. The Blackstone Affair series is one of the series that I closely follow, counting down until the next release, eagerly watching for excerpts and quotes from Raine Miller. Erotic romance readers, you do not want to miss this series!
*PS* Kudos to the cover artist, the cover is beautiful. I love the black and white with the touches of color. Plus, it totally fits the book: gripping read- gripping cover **
