Blurb From Goodreads:

She’s on her way to safety

It’s a sign of Lady Rosalia Armstrong’s desperation that she’s seeking refuge in a place as rugged and challenging as the Scottish Highlands. She doesn’t care about hardship and discomfort, if only she can become master of her own life. Laird Ciaran MacGregor, however, is completely beyond her control…

He redefines dangerous…

Ciaran MacGregor knows it’s perilous to get embroiled with a fiery Lowland lass, especially one as headstrong as Rosalia. Having made a rash promise to escort her all the way to Glengarry, now he’s stuck with her, even though she challenges his legendary prowess at every opportunity. When temptation reaches its peak, he’ll be ready to show her who he really is…on and off the battlefield.

My Review:

A stubborn Scottish Laird, a determined Lady, and feuding clans collide in Temptation in a Kilt, a book that proved to be highly engaging and 100 percent a highlander romance novel.

Lady Rosalia Armstrong did not have a happy upbringing, her mother was vicious and cruel and tormented Rosalia constantly.  When her parents decided to sell Rosalia in marriage, Rosalia knew she could take no more and fled, hoping to reach her grandmother in the northern highlands.  Rosalia was injured and alone when Laird Ciaran MacGregor and his men found her.  Ciaran felt drawn to help Rosalia and offered to keep her at his home until it was possible to travel farther north.  Without more options, Rosalia agrees and soon finds herself getting close, too close to the Laird.  Ciaran would love to keep Rosalia with him, but obligations and oaths keep him from getting too close.

Ciaran is the epitome of a stubborn highland laird.  He fights hard, puts his family and clan first, and is used to getting his way.  Rosalia comes along and makes him question his choices and decisions, and he is too stubborn to change his ways.  That stubbornness made me want to shake Ciaran at times, or give him a good smack, to make him admit his feelings for Rosalia.  As for Rosalia, I really liked her character. She had a tough life but it did not break or damage her too much.  She is a cautious person, but when she determined to change her life, she really went for it.  I admired her ability to adjust to new situations and to deal with the hard-headed highland laird.  Rosalia and Ciaran made a wonderful couple, and I loved reading their story and meeting the MacGregor clan.

The pacing, the character development, and the highland setting were very well-written, making Temptation in a Kilt an excellent highlander romance novel.  I enjoyed the secondary characters as well (especially Ciaran’s brothers and Rosalia’s friend James), and I am looking forward to reading more books from this series in the future.

Romance readers, if you like reading about those stubborn men in kilts, I highly recommend reading Temptation in a Kilt.
