Well, it’s the very last day of 2011, and this past year has been a wild ride indeed. Let’s see, I began blogging in February of 2011, but I didn’t really get into it until March. Since then, I have grown quite a bit as a book blogger and reviewer. I have had a blast reading books by new authors, old authors, exploring indie/self-published books, and hosting authors on my site.
Taking a look back, one of the first authors I worked with was Lisa Beth Darling, who wrote The Heart of War.(My Review) This book is absolutely amazing, I rated it 5 stars and the book is more than deserving of the 5 star status. Since that review, Lisa has released book 2 in the series, Child of War (my review), and has guest blogged here at Book Savvy Babe. (Lisa’s Guest Blog: Forbidden Love-Ares and Aphrodite)

I am a proud sponsor of Bestseller For a Day, put on the the Indie Book Collective. I started promoting indie authors in May with my first ever bestseller for a day by reading and promoting Fierce Dawn by Amber Scott. (My review and promo) Through the Indie Book Collective, and Bestseller for a Day, I have been introduced to many amazing indie authors.

In August, I traveled to Denver, Colorado for RomCon, a romance novel convention. This conference was a blast, I got to meet some of my favorite authors, join in a dirty, chocolatey night, and meet some hottie book cover models (what was there NOT to love?) (Rom Con article I wrote for Examiner.Com) If you are wondering, in the awesome picture below, I am hanging out with Brooks, the book cover model, and Felicia from The Geeky Blogger. Fun Times!
Ahem..so moving on, also in August, with the help of the Skype Sisters, we began a new blog meme Top Spot. Top Spot is a monthly meme where during the last week of the month, we choose our favorite read, our Top Spot pick, for the month. In August, my very first Top Spot, I chose The Rake and The Recluse by Jenn LeBlanc. (The Rake and The Recluse review and Top Spot Post) Due to scheduling, Top Spot has been on a bit of a break this last month or so, but be watching for Top Spot the last week of every month!
Rounding out the year, In November, a few of my fellow Skype Sisters (Jenn from The Bawdy Book Blog and Lisa from Alive on the Shelves) all joined forces to co-host our first ever Giveaway Blog Hop, The Black Friday Book Bonanza. This giveaway hop turned out so well, and I look forward to hosting again next year. So, next November, be ready to join in the fun!
The best part of this entire year has been making new bookish friends. The Skype Sisters are all awesome people, and these ladies have helped me through my book blogging journey, and been there whenever I needed to vent, or even just laugh. All my twitter and other online friends are awesome as well, I love being a book blogger, and I am looking forward to 2012!
