Green-Eyed Demon (Sabina Kane)
***** 5 of 5 stars
Green-Eyed Demon by Jaye Wells
From Publisher:

The clock is ticking for Sabina Kane. She has to save her sister from her mysterious captors. And in order to do that, she has to broker a deal between the mages and the vampires before all hell breaks loose.
But as much as Sabina is focused on surviving the present, the past won’t be ignored. Before she can save those she cares about, she’s got to save herself from the ghosts of her past. Because the past is haunting her. Literally.

My Review:

In this, the 3rd installment of the Sabina Kane series by Jaye Wells, Sabina is on the search for her abducted sister.  Sabina, Adam, and Giguhl obtain intel on Maisie’s general location, New Orleans, and are sent to find her.  They have help in the form of a human voodoo practitioner and a cross-dressing faery.  Their search bring the action, and suddenly, Sabina’s role to the caste of Nod seems to have changed.  All the while, Sabina is learning that maybe she really can feel love.  “Team awesome” is on a time crunch to find the missing Maisie and stop the caste from Summoning their dangerous leader.
I have to say, this series is addicting.  The characters are colorful, fun, and they kick-butt.  Sabina is a great heroine because she is trying to move past her issues and accept the other half of herself, the mage half that she thought was so bad.  She learns about love, something she never knew before.  More of her powers surface, and it’s fun to watch.  Sabina’s relationship with Adam continues in this book, and I’m left wanting more.
We not only get to see the usual characters, we are introduced to some very colorful and unique new characters in New Orleans.  Mac, is a werewolf who reluctantly helps Sabina’s cause, Alodius is a quirky human butcher, but my favorite would be Brooks, aka Pussy Willow.  The cross-dressing faery was surprising and brought another element of humor to the book.
The book is not just humor, it is also action packed.  Sabina has foes of a whole different caliber to ward off.  There is also romance and flirtation, not just for Sabina.  The series is quite engaging, and I am very eagerly-awaiting book 4!
