Oh Saturday Snapshot, how I’ve missed you.  Life has been busy busy these last few weeks and months, but I finally remembered to snap a few fun pics to show off.  I spent last weekend in Phoenix/Scottsdale Arizona visiting my family for a wedding.  Yep, I am originally from the desert, and in the 9 years I’ve been gone, I had *almost* forgotten the heat.  I mean, I remembered it was hot, but feeling that stinging heat… that’s different (one day it hit 113ish, yikes!)… Anyhow, my grandmother’s house has a beautiful view of the desert…

Yes, that is the view from my Grandmother’s house.  It’s not a tropical beach, but the desert has it’s own type of beauty.  While my trip was quite hot, there is, however, 1 benefit to the sweltering heat…

I had a lovely day at the pool at the Scottsdale Cottonwoods Resort with my Mom and Aunt.  I did get some color, a little too much… Either way, I had fun visiting family and watching my cousin get married.

So, that’s my Saturday Snapshot this week.  Hopefully, I will remember to snap more fun shots for future posts to share :)

  1. I just love your photo – though it looks a bit greener than I imagined. Hard to think of that sweltering heat when here in England all week we’ve been really cold (I had to put the heating on!), the rain hasn’t stopped, and there are gale force winds!

  2. The desert does look lovely, in a deserty sort of way.
But the pool….. mmmm…. I do want to dive in there.
Especially after a week of work in a non-air-conditioned warehouse. YES…. I want to dive in that pool and stay there until I am evaporated out!

  3. June is all about weddings, isn’t it? What fun! But phew, the desert just looks way too hot for me. I would spend all my time lolling around in that delicious pool ;)

  4. What a beautiful setting for a pool! And I do love the landscape picture — so flat, yet with vegetation and then that mountain almost pops from out of nowhere!

  5. That pool looks so refreshing after your description of the heat. I’ve never spent much time in the desert. Hope the wedding was fun. Here’s Mine

  6. What a gorgeous pool:)

  7. Reminds me of our visit to Colorado many years ago. What a beautiful shot of the pool and surroundings.

  8. I have spent many enjoyable times in the deserts of Arizona, but usually I go in October….I have enough heat where I live in California’s Central Valley…lol

Beautiful shots, though. I’m almost tempted!

    Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST

  9. I love visiting the desert, so different from what we have here. And there’s certainly a lot of beauty.
Congratulations to your cousin and spouse.

  10. The pool looks so inviting. Arizona is one of the few States I have not visited yet.

  11. That’s a remarkably green desert! Usually I don’t like desert shots because I’m dying for a few leaves–but this is beautiful. :)

  12. Oh! Lucky duck! Looks so relaxing and luxurious a place … bet it was great visit!

  13. I’ve always thought that desert views were gorgeous! Definitely a good time to hit the pool when it’s that hot!

  14. I hope you didn’t get too sunburned! the desert really is beautiful, but a harsh place to live.

  15. That pool looks perfect, it just needs a stack of books and a cabana boy.

  16. Oh, that pool looks really inviting!

    Here’s my Snapshot
