Alright, since Blogger has had some issues, this is the second time to post this….Welcome to this week’s series spotlight post. This month I am highlighting the Chicagoland Vampires series by Chloe Neill. Every week, readers have the opportunity to hear a bit about the series and enter my monthly giveaway. Music in Urban Fantasy by Gigi Payne
Hey everyone its me Gigi from Down and Dirty Lusty and Flirty and the Booksavvy Babe has asked me to do a guest post. So here I am TAKING OVER.
I wanted to talk about one of my favorite things and that is interrpreting a story through music. Urban Fantasy and Paranormal romance stories are so rich that literally with the right soiund track it just brings it up to that whole other notch. Its amazing. So I’m going to post some of my favorite pairings and hopefully you’ll agree with me. If not tell me why. I’d love your oppinion.
Riley Jensen Guardian Series-Gary Numan Hybrid
First of all its Riley Jensen. The Riley Jensen Guardian Series By Keri Arthur is about a hybrid vampire and werewolf who works for The Directorate or other races in Melbourne Aus. She’s my absolute 100 percent favorite character in an Urban Fantasy novel. She is more wolf than vampire but she does have some vamp abilities. Gary Numan well he used to be in a band called the cars. This song just Really really sets the mood off perfectly if you listen to the words and here what he’s saying you’ll see why. Like all my other parings I’ll post the link for the video so you can see what I’m talking about.
Chicagoland-Evanessance my Immortal
I’m not going to go much into this. if you’ve been a follower of the series then you know what I’m talking about. This is literally the best pairing for this I’ve come across. Not only does it cover Chicagoland but its also the angst that the fans have been feeling lately
Night Huntress-Maroon 5 Misery
Cat is a young hybrid human/vampire who goes on the hunt to kill vampires who have wronged her mother, then she meets Bones. He shakes all her values to the core. She realizes that vamps aren’t so bad. he teaches her how to survive, and things blossom from there. Now if you’ve read the series all the way through then you know why this works. I’m going to post the video for the acoustic version as I think its the best version out there. It’s more soulful and you can feel it as my mum would say in your belly.

I love both music and books. Often a song will remind me of a book that I have read and make me want to re-read the book. Btw, love -Evanessance. I have not read any of this series yet but they look and sound great.

I'm totally into both music and books. I absolutely loved Evanessance's first album, and Maroon 5. I've been dying to get my hands on a copy of Chloe Neill's Hard Bitten. I adore her series and can't get enough of it.
