I am 89 pages into Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews, and I am hooked. This book is a spin-off from the Kate Daniels series (new main character, same world). In this one, Andrea is the protagonist, and she has to deal with no longer being a Knight of the Order, her beast kin nature, and her broken relationship with Rafael. It’s pretty awesome so far! So, here’s my teaser:

Interesting teaser. I haven’t read the Kate Daniels series. Would it be bad if I read this one first before reading the rest of the series?

that’s a tough question, you could probably read this as a stand alone, but there is a lot of history that you would be missing out on. Andrea, the heroine, is in the previous books a lot… I guess it depends on how much backstory you need when you read…
