Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.  This meme is simple and fun, you just pick up your current read, flip to a random page, and choose 1 or 2 teaser sentences to share!  Here are the guidelines:

  • Grab Your Current Read
  • Open to a random page
  • Pick two “teaser” sentences from that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO SHARE SPOILERS! (make sure what you share doesn’t give too much away.  You don’t want to ruin the book for other readers)
  • INCLUDE the TITLE & AUTHOR too, so other TT participants can add the book to their TBR and wish-lists!  If possible, add the page number.

I feel like it’s been a really long time since I last posted a Teaser Tuesday!  Luckily, I’m reading a fun, historical romance novella right now, and have teasers ready to share with you.  My teasers are from The Devil You Know by Victoria Vane.  The Devil You Know is the 3rd installment in Victoria Vane’s The Devil DeVere series.  This series is a really fun read, DeVere is always getting into various shenanigans while those close to him fall into romances.  This installment gives some backstory on DeVere and Diana, and I’m really enjoying it so far.  With that, here is my teaser, enjoy!

Deeming it naught but a bit of harmless flirtation with a charming rogue, Diana paid little heed to the fleeting notion that she might actually be playing with fire. (15% on Kindle)
“Simple?”  Edward laughed.  ”That’s where you are wrong my dear.  Nothing is ever simple with DeVere.  I fear any transaction made with him will be much more than you bargained for.” (35% on Kindle)

Book Blurb from Goodreads:

NOTE: This is book #3 in a tightly connected series that should be read in order

When dealing with the devil it’s easy to be burned… especially when passion ignites the flames.
Who can find a virtuous woman… Beautiful, respectable, and dutiful, Lady Diana Palmerston-Wriothesley has long resigned herself to her decade-long loveless and childless marriage to a feckless husband…until his gambling pushes them to the brink of financial ruin.
Sometimes the devil is in disguise…as a gentleman… Viscount Ludovic, “The Devil DeVere”, is a man accustomed to taking what he wants according to his whim and heedless of the cost…until he encounters a woman who won’t be had at any price.
When dealing with the devil, it’s easy to be burned… When Diana discovers a secret that shatters the carefully built façade concealing her private pain, she seeks aid and comfort from the most unlikely place…the devil’s arms. But will a single night of heavenly passion damn them both forever?

As the blurb states, these novellas are best when read in order.  Here is the book order and links to my reviews: Book 1: A Wild Night’s Bride (my review)  Book 2: The Virgin Huntress (my review)  (Can you tell I like this series??)

I hope everyone is having a great week!  PS- Sign ups went up today for The Black Friday Book Bonanza giveaway blog hop.  This blog hop is in November, a great time to clean out the shelves for the holidays :) If you are interested, stop by and join in the fun!
